My approach
The essence of psychotherapy is the relationship between the therapist and client— a slow, shifting dance of trust, truth, and understanding. It’s intimate, sometimes confusing, and occasionally surprising. But when it works, it can be life-changing.
My work is rooted in the principles of Truth, Trust, and Consent, a framework I learned from my mentor, the psychiatrist and psychotherapist Dr Bob Johnson. These aren’t abstract ideas — they’re the foundation for real connection. Without truth, there’s no depth. Without trust, there’s no safety. Without consent, there’s no freedom.
Therapy is not a quick fix; it’s a space where people can come into contact with themselves — their history, their pain, their strength — and begin to choose a different path.
My approach is relational, grounded in everyday life, and influenced by the belief — as Paul Gordon puts it in The Hope of Therapy — that meaningful change grows from presence, honesty, and human connection.
